About Us

Side by Side in Your Journey.

Our Mission

At Harmony Arts, we believe everyone — child, teen, or adult — deserves the chance to explore, create, and grow, regardless of their abilities.

Our approach is deeply inspired by the ancient Greek ideal of Paideia — the holistic development of the whole person through the balanced pursuit of arts, music, sports, and wellness. We see these not as separate activities, but as essential paths to building confidence, creativity, discipline, and emotional well-being.

We understand how busy life can be. That's why our focus is on easy communication, showing up consistently, and making learning simple, joyful, and stress-free — empowering you or your child to discover strengths and express themselves creatively.

The Harmony Method

This method is a blend of adaptive pedagogy, sensory-friendly design, and creative practice — developed over a decade of hands-on teaching experience and professional training.

It draws from the foundational work of psychologists and educators including Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, Lev Vygotsky, Albert Bandura, Zoltán Kodály, Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, and Carl Orff among others.

Every instructor has completed specialized training in this method, enabling them to support students of all ages and abilities with patience, creativity, and expertise. Our team includes graduates from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, UCLA, Berklee College of Music, Juilliard, and NYU.

We also have a special matching process to ensure every family or individual is paired with the best teacher for their unique interests, personality, and learning style — so we can work side by side with every learner, guiding them with patience, play, and progress at their own pace.

Note: Our programs are recreational and enrichment-based. We are not a therapeutic or formal educational service.

Our Founder

"Being a teacher goes beyond imparting knowledge; it requires a deep understanding of the human mind and the ability to connect with students on an emotional and psychological level."
Ilya Blazh, Founder of Harmony Arts

Ilya Blazh

Founder & Creator of The Harmony Method

About

Ilya Blazh is an accomplished musician, athlete, and educator who brings together artistic excellence, athletic discipline, and deep psychological insight.

Born into a family of psychologists, Ilya was inspired from childhood by his mother to embrace the ancient Greek ideal of Paideia which focuses on holistic development of the whole person through the balanced pursuit of arts and athletics. This important philosophy has shaped both his life and his teaching approach. Growing up in a family of immigrants, he has lived in three countries and traveled extensively around the world, giving him a rich multicultural perspective and a unique understanding of diverse learning styles.

Having successfully managed his own ADHD diagnosis, Ilya brings authentic personal insight and practical strategies for supporting neurodiverse learners in a fun, engaging, and enriching environment.

In addition to his teaching career, he has performed as a musician across the globe and has competed as an athlete winning multiple championships in both pentathlon and acrobatics.

Credentials

Ilya holds a Master of Music (MMA) degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, with a thesis focused on innovative pedagogy. His research developed a unique teaching technique that integrates dance and movement to enhance learning — a tool he has successfully incorporated into his Harmony Method and applied when working with kids and adults with disabilities.

His training includes extensive additional university coursework in pedagogy and pedagogical psychology, as well as obtaining a CPD-accredited certification in special education needs. He has taught privately for children with disabilities for over 10 years and spent 5 years teaching at Berklee College of Music's prestigious summer camps, where he worked with middle schoolers, including many with disabilities.

Ilya has also delivered teaching clinics and performance outreaches in schools and communities across the world including Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Panama, Argentina, Canada, and multiple U.S. states. With a deep commitment to giving back, he has led inclusive workshops in mental health institutions, hospitals, prisons, elderly homes, and shelters.
